Community meeting previewed initial interior schematic design of new elementary school

The Uvalde CISD Moving Forward Foundation hosted a community meeting on Tuesday, March 21 during which Huckabee Architects previewed the initial interior design schematic of the new elementary school. During the meeting, the Foundation also provided an overview of the design process and updates of what is still to come. The exterior design was previewed to the community at a community meeting in January.

The Fabric of Uvalde - A woven tapestry of elements symbolizing the strength, character and identity of Uvalde. The design and selection of materials is rooted in the elements and colorful cultural heritage that create and strengthen the character of the community of Uvalde. Nature inspired colors and materials create the palette for this new school. Regional references help layer in the color and icons that promote wayfinding and identity throughout. Images next to text are a sunset, large trees, honey bee on honeycomb, river, dancers, baby foxes, monarch butterfly and buildings.
